In the heart of the Freistaat Sachsen between Dresden, Chemnitz and Leipzig is the district of Mittenachsen.
A large mix of industries, supported by a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises in particular, has made the district one of the economically strongest regions in Saxony. Through industry, craftsmen, service providers and agriculture, the economy is characterized above all by technical considerations. Due to the large number of commercial areas and the educational facilities, Mittelachsen is a stable and future-oriented business and technology center.
The history of the region, which is more than a thousand years old, has left unmistakable traces. The landscape, with its castles, castles, monasteries, churches and historic city centers, attracts more and more tourists. Among the best-known sites are the former Cistercian monastery book in Klosterbuch, the castle Mildenstein in Leisnig, the castle of Rochsburg, the dam and the castle Kriebstein, the castle Augustusburg, the baroque garden Lichtenwalde and the Freiberg Cathedral.
